Marie Lewis - Administration and Finance Office
I started my post in November 2003, my first large job being to organise our launch in January 2004. My role is to provide and manage the admin support to the Board and the outreach workers, and to run the central office. I also have responsibility for the financial wellbeing of Powys Carers Service under our Treasurer and Director, including fundraising, budgeting, payroll, accounts and payments. My role is as interesting as it is varied - and a lot of hard work!!

Living near Llandrindod Wells for most of my life (I moved to Cardiff for 18 months), I know what it is like to live in Powys - and the difference in services and opportunities to a place like Cardiff. When I was younger (and without a car) it was extremely difficult to get out and get involved in things available to me - everything, including transport, had to be planned days in advance. I must admit that before working for Powys Carers Service, I didn't have any idea about how many people were carers and the impact it can have on them. I can think of times in my past that family and friends have been carers - although we both didn't recognise that they were at the time.
