New Staff
at Powys Carers Service
Hello everyone, my name is Anne O'Brien
and I have just taken up the post of Administration Assistant
here in Llandrindod Wells.
Over the coming months I am sure that I will be speaking to
many of you. I will be working to support the office and will
be setting up the information library, which will be available
to you all in the future. |

New Outreach Worker for Mid Powys
Sarah Baker will be joining the team as
outreach worker for adult carers, covering Radnor and N. Brecknock.
She will start on the 22nd June 2004, and during a short induction
period will be setting up her telephone and getting settled in to
the team. When her telephone and email are confirmed we will let
all carers in the area know! We hope that everyone will make Sarah
welcome, and we all look forward to her joining Powys Carers Service.
A message from Philip Moody
Adult Carer Outreach Worker in Montgomeryshire
Hi, Well it has been nearly 6 months since
I started work and it seems to have gone so fast (it must be my
age). Seriously, it has been a busy time meeting with many of the
social services teams and the voluntary agencies that seek to support
carers in the Montgomeryshire area. It has been encouraging meeting
with old friends I have worked with in the past and getting to know
new people.
One thing I’m sure of is, life can be complicated as a carer
with so many people to be in touch with in order to get support,
and I hope I can help you through the information maze.
I would like to thank those of you who have shown me hospitality
and shared your experiences, which have been very valuable in developing
my role. To those of you I have met, I hope I have been some help
and support. To mark Carers Week I have booked a band called Platform
Soul to play on Friday 18th June at the Monty Club, Newtown. This
will enable you to meet other carers but most of all have a good
night out. At the moment I have a long list of carers on my computer,
however I would prefer to meet you in person, so do try to come
along on the 18th and say hello.
Philip Moody.
